Course Description

Our Svadhyaya Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training programwas established in 1995.  One of the first schools to be registered with the Yoga Alliance, Silver Lotus Training Institute has an established program of the highest caliber.  We run small teacher training programs (no more than 12 students at a time) to ensure that each student receives personalized and individualized training from our faculty.

Our signature approach combines  ancient yoga practice and philosophy with contemporary body/mind psychophysiology to bring trainees to a deep understanding of the nature of the True Self, as revealed in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.   Our graduates have been trained to adapt and modify asana and pranyayama techniques to meet individual needs of students in their own classes.

We specialize in the utilization of yoga practices to support health and healing.  Our program is designed to teach yoga instructors to address the unique needs of folks with challenges such as fibromyalgia, movements disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, arthritis and a myriad of other health concerns.

The Silver Lotus program is perfect for the yoga professional who wants to work in a small, non-judgemental environment  and learn how to apply yoga strategies to help others who have health concerns.

This teacher training program meets the standards of the National Yoga Alliance and is registered as a 200-hour level. The course includes studies in techniques, teaching method, anatomy, physiology, Yoga history, philosophy, ethics and lifestyle. It also includes study in chanting, meditation, mudras, bandhas, and yantra. Students are given an opportunity to do practice teaching at Silver Lotus Training Institute or in a facility of their choice. Students work with Mentors to support and guide them through the process of YTT.

The program welcomes individuality and deep acceptance of the Self. All are welcome. We embrace diversity in culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
